Special MotionPicture Association

Dear film-maker friends,

On behalf of the Hungarian Special Motion Picture Association, I’d like to present the following event to you.

Our association was formed in order to improve the quality of life of mental handicapped, psychiatric and addicted people with the help of the power of motion picture. The special event organized by us is called IV. Hungarian Special Independent Film Festival, which will be held in Budapest (Eötvös10 Communal and Cultural Stage) on the 24-25 October 2018.

The main purpose of the survey is to present films created by mentally handicapped, and also psychiatric and addicted persons to the public and professionals for evaluation. We would like to give more space and recognition to the unique films made by handicapped people, so that way the audience can get acquainted with this often closed, yet excessively open world directly from within.

In order to subserve integration and acceptance, and to shed light on a different perspective, we welcome all independent film makers and creative groups who show the world of mental handicapped people or have any kind of relation to them.

We find it important to initiate equal chances, therefore the professional jury will rate in three separate sections, i.e. mental handicapped film makers, psychiatric and addicted persons, and films about mental handicapped people created by independent film makers.

Entry of any kind of film is allowed, regardless of the year and length of production. There are no restrictions for films that were previously submitted on other events.

Please find the entry form and invitation attached. You can also download it from documents.

Entry cost: 3.000HUF (10 €)

Deadline for entry: 17. September 2018

Date of the event: 25-26. October 2018

Location: Eötvös10 Közösségi és Kulturális Színtér, Budapest VI. district, Eötvös str. 10.

We welcome all our fellow film makers with their films, on the 26-27 October 2017 in the Eötvös10 Communal and Cultural Stage in Budapest.

Wishing you good luck,

Gábor Fábián
